Bought car in August 2014, 2008 Leon Fr, 157000km on the clock.

When I bought the car, it came with a cracked headlight and tail light and a few paint chips, but overall pretty good condition.
First thing I did was replace the cracked lights, with originals from VW.

The car then developed a rough idle, sounded like a diesel. Replaced timing chain and a few bits, PCV and DV.
Added a Motorcade CAI, and car was happy again, with 150wkw.

I then added a HMS splitter and diffuser, carbon hydrographics on the mirrors, yellow skull hydrographics on the intake cover, gloss black all the plastics, and added a tint film over the rear lights.
Car looking all sexy.
Also added a few seat sport stickers on rear window, also blacked out rear window.

Fitted a boost gauge, mounted in airvent, Hubbly mount.

Stock and HMS Splitter

HMS diffuser

Mirrors

Engine cover

Blacked out windows with Seat Sport logos

I then added Stage 1 Revo sw, the Intake then created timing issues, reverted back to stock intake. Coil 3 said cheers with sw, replaced with R8 coilpack.

Also upgraded the sound a bit.
Sound deadening in all doors, Alpine MRX-F65 4 channel amp (in a hideaway install, passanger footwell), and 2 sets of Alpine R series 6.5" splits (1 set up front, 1 set in rear). Still wanting to install 2x Alpine R series 12" (SWR12D2), 2xMonoblocks (Alpine MRX-M110), and a dual battery setup for the sound. More sound deadening will go in with this part of install.
Running 0G Stinger cables, with rockford RCAs. Have also installed an Audiocontrol EQS in the boot.

Loving the car, alot of fun to drive. Stoked on the buy.

So
As I mentioned earlier, there was a project underway.

An unfortunate event occurred, which required a respray.
I then decided, if I am going to respray, go big, and do a colour change.

We started at the front, stripped off the front end, and removed the motor, and some interior goodies.

The engine bay was then prepped for spray and sprayed

Once the engine bay was sprayed, the motor was fitted again.

The rest of the front end that was needed for life in the motor was then fitted.

The body was then stripped and prepped for spray.

Once all that had been done, the body and parts were all sprayed.

The rebuild process then began.

Rims received a colour change, brake calipers received a colour change.
All plastics were turned gloss block.

Car is still dirty, getting a wash and polish then its complete from the panelshop.

Just having the sound rewired, and the engine getting a clean bill of health after standing.
Then she will be out on the roads.

I bought a twincooler setup

Godspeed twintercooler FMIC
Core length: 25"
Core height: 6.75"
Core thickness: 2.75"
Inlet/Outlet size: 2.25"
End to end lenght: 30.5"

When I bought it, it had already been sprayed black.

I then took it and created a stencil, and sprayed a FR logo onto it.

A few cuts, quite a few, had to be made to get it to fit nice and snug.

Here's a snap of it fitted

I havent been running logs or anything, dont have a vcds cable. Should probably invest in one.
But she is pulling very nicely now.

The footwell hideaway amp rack

A small amp rack needs to be mounted to floor, so that amp can be mounted to the amprack.

Then the cover needs to be made

Edges closest to floor, and passanger door, need to be raised a bit, to create the angle to go over the amp. And obviously cut your cover to line up with the curve in the footwell.

Edge on drivers side, needs to be shaped to fit along dash etc...

Mine has that little cover, in case I want to open it up to show the amp, without cabling. This isnt important. Will be less noticeable without it.

Cover in same carpet as interior.
People dont notice it in my car unless I point it out.

Tall people have never had any issues with room in passenger seat, neither have passengers sitting behind them.

Simple cover to make, nice for if you want to save on boot space, as not its mounted against the back of the seat etc... Cant get damaged by things rolling around or whatever.

Got a good deal on a set of eibach springs.

Loving the new drop, not slammed on the floor, but im not a big fan of rubbing wheels and sitting on the floor.

Sits nicely on the road.

Went down to a local dyno day

I havent dyno'd with the sw or twincooler.

When I bought the car, I fitted a motorcade intake, and made 150KW on the ferroli dyno at killarney race track.

Since then, I removed the intake, added S1 Revo, Godspeed twintercooler, and a R8 coilpack.

This is how I did on the dyno at dynotech

Was quite happy, was expecting a bit less.

Clutch starting to slip under load, 5th gear etc...
Need to replace that sometime soonish.
Dont think dyno had enough load to slip the clutch.

Had a few small trimmings made pretty.

Got rear sill plates from Hubbly, and had them chromed.
Had the washer bottle cap and anti-freeze bottle-cap sprayed red and dipped in dedheadz skulls.

Had my engine cover resprayed and dipped in hydrographics reaper skulls again.

Been threw a few phases, went from stock to yellow skulls, then with respray did blue with red lettering. I was never happy with the quality of the lettering, was horrible overspray etc.
I then took it down to Coat It in montague gardens, and had them respray the engine cover and do the graphics.
The skulls are very subtle, especially in the shade, pops nicely in the sunlight.

Just a snap of the engine bay, red cabling is the Big 3 upgrade, the bigger battery fitted and some dipped goodies.
It does need a clean though, dirty at moment.

Time for a small addition.

Fitted mesh sleeving over the cabling in the Engine Bay.
Had an aluminum plate made up to make a neat fuse holder.
Did a few other odds and ends, but no pictures.

Lately I've been itching to have a downpipe fitted.
The initial plan was to buy a TMSS dp and have it sent down to Cape Town, but i figured couriers weren't going to be very cheap (never got a proper quote).

On Monday I just decided I was going to get one done.
I went down to Pro-Fit in brooklyn area, and got the job done.

Pulled up onto the lift

Naturally first the stock dp had to be removed

Here's some snaps of the flexjoint section being mocked up

A snap of the next section being mocked up

Snap of the welding being done at the flange and flex joint

The completed downpipe ready to be fitted

Downpipe being fitted

Flange mounting

Downpipe fitted and ready to go

Snap up on the lifts

Whilst under the car, we noticed some cracks in the rubber insert on the dogbone mount.
Ordered a powerflex poly mount, arrived yesterday. Should be fitting in the week.

Motor also seems to have alot of movement, so will be replacing the gearbox mount as well in the week.

Did a dyno run at Dynotech on the 05/03/2016
Mods: Stage 1 Revo SW, R8 Coilpacks, Godspeed Twintercooler FMIC

Wasn't the greatest run, but not to bad.
177 KW and 376NM

3 months later, being today, did another dyno run at Dynotech 04/06/2016
Mods: Stage 1 Revo SW, R8 Coilpacks, Godspeed Twintercooler FMIC, 76MM downpipe by Pro-fit

Not a bad gain (10KW) for the DP with no SW changes
187KW and 398NM

Granted Dynotech does run flywheel KW

Next up on the power list, need to do an intake and a stage 2 tune.

I've been wanting to replace my rims for a while.

On the way to the dyno day, I was being a chop and fiddling with some loose trim, and managed to have my rims connect a pavement.

So I sat with the option of a refurb/respray or new rims.
So, naturally, I did the right thing and bought new wheels.

Spent a day out and about looking at wheels, then I came across these BBS CH-R reps, in 18".

18 Inch was perfect, as I did not want to buy new tyres to go up to a 19" wheel.
This was a snap with the stock wheels, before removing.

Then the tyres had to be transferred across.

Running Bridgestone RE002s

I also bought valve covers that matched the centre cap on the wheel.

Considering that the wheelbolts would be exposed, I couldn't keep the stock bolts, as they would look terrible. I went out and got a set of Volk Racing lock nuts, with black centres.

A shot with the wheels fitted on the car. Car is ridiculously filthy and needs a good clean.
