Hi I'm going to look at a 2010 seat ibiza 1.4 TSI FR DSG on Saturday, are there any problems with these engines, I've never had any experience with them, only had tdi pd, should I look out for anything, it's done 55k.
The car looks tidy and I have researched about common faults but haven't found any information.

Thanks for any help, it's much appreciated

Is it the 150 bhp version? I'd recommend checking all service history. The engines are known to have excessive oil consumption problems leading to many engines being replaced whilst under warranty. These engines were revised late 2012 onwards. However many have been absolutely fine. Just make sure you thoroughly check everything :)

It can be but its a lottery if you'll have any issues, I have a 59plate FR about to hit 40k running 178bhp with no issues.

Yea just like any car I guess all got issues just depends who they happen to, just that the car I'm going from is a tdi pd bora ARL which has been nothing but trouble and don't want to get another trouble car
