Looking at buying a 2017 Cupra Black 290 DSG with 35000 miles from a private seller.
Is there anything I should look out for? What should it's service history look like and is there any big services that should be coming up?
Thanks for the help :)

First thing is the DSG oil change. I'm not sure the exact mileage, my A4 2.0TFSI was @ 38,000 miles, on here I've seen 40,000 miles mentioned fro SEAT. So, if it's not been done it'll be due soon. At that age, if it's on a long-life service schedule (as opposed to annual) it'll probably only have had one service. As there's no service booklet ask the seller to get a printout from SEAT of the electronic service history (no service booklets of course). Engine has a timing chain, so no cambelt change to worry about.

You can also ask to look at the infotainemnt system and check out the time / mileage to the next service. Oh, and it should have had a brake fluid change at 3 years. And for whatever reason VAG decided on putting small bags of silica in the coolant header tank (coolant should be a pink colour BTW) to prolong coolant life. But if the bag bursts, the silica clogs the heater matrix, which gets expensive. Best thing wouild be - if it's still in there - is get the bag removed and the coolant changed ASAP, then it's a coolant change every 2 years.

Also check if the diff has had an oil change.
Is that a recommended service item? I've never heard of it, especially at such low mileage. Haldex on the 4WD systems, yes, but not a standard diff.

ETA: a quick google suggests it is, as it's like a 2WD Haldex - so oil AND filter change - and main dealers don't seem to do the filter, but independents do. I'd suggest Haldex / diff every 2 years too. Try calling a dealer and askinbg them - or better still a VAG specialist independent.

The workshop manuals are here:

If you look for the one titled maintenance you can see the Seat servicing schedule for the vehicle.

The haldex coupling service is every 3 years, with no mileage. If you speak with the vag specialists the oil should be replaced between 20-40k miles, depending upon how hard it’s been driven - stage 1 tune/track days = lower mileage.

Check what should have been completed at 3 years, and what needs to be done at 4 years (e.g. spark plugs), plus any mileage related servicing over and above the oil/inspection services.

Other than that, have a look at any condition based maintenance - e.g. what do tyres, brake discs etc look like?

Got in contact with the seller, the car has a full service history and he sent me the pictures of the service book. It's done four services, last one in December had the spark plugs changed. Doesn't look like the DSG oil or Diff oil have been done yet though. He's looking £15,900 for it, does this seem like a fair price? I'm hoping to knock a bit off that for getting the DSG and diff done plus the fact it's a private sale so there's no warranty or anything if something goes horribly wrong in a months time.
