Hi folks, hope all is well.

The front offside roadspring on my Arona died with a bang earlier in the week, and I have a new spring right here ready to go on. However, my trusty 36mm multipoint socket seems to be slipping on the hub nut when I apply the breaker bar to it.

Seems odd; it could be that the nut or socket are worn, but an inspection of the socket seems to show that its in good order. Could anyone in the know confirm; is this a 36mm nut or could it in fact be 35mm?

cheers!

Good stuff, I've always considered that if I ground down the short "lead in" at the end of these sockets, they would work/fit these very "thin" or nuts with a narrow face.

Also maybe you have discovered that some of the "slipping" is just the nut's "self locking" tangs getting dragged over the splines.
