ABF 16v Lack of power after gearchange

Just took my 16V out for its first proper run tonight, she pulls like a train all the way through the rev range, BUT when I wring it out to 7k and slam it into 3rd and sometimes 2nd it will completely hesitate and lose power, if I lift off and apply the throttle again it will return to full power. I've done a search but nobodys symptoms seem to match mine.

Any ideas what this could be? Crap airfilter? Spark plugs worn out? Dodgy sensor? etc

i would give it a good service and start from there tbh

start the service this maybe be asimple thing
oil filter or Sparks
or it may be clutch kit

mine's always seemed to pull better on 7/8 throttle at first then full as it builds up

one of those wierd 'mk2 things' i've never nailed down

clean the throttle body out to start

sounds more like your riding the clutch too muchwhen your changing. Ping the clutch up and see if its the same. If it is id be looking at a clutch in my opnion.
