Springs will give you the drop you want...

However I'd go for a full suspension kit as it will be a nice and day difference to what you have now.

To name but a few options:

Koni FSD's with Eibach Springs (Forum favourite)
H&R Cup Kit
Eibach Pro Street Coilovers (Adjustable height with coilovers)

There is also a good Sticky at the top of the forum done by Rudd.

You really dont want more than 30-35mm as you will start scraping the sump (engine cover underneath the car) especially as the 110 has a much rounder larger one.

I have gone for just the eibach springs on my 110 se, (10 000 miles ago) it goes really well, doesn`t bounce. mind you its only got 22k on the clock so the shocks are still good. If youve done nearer 50 then probably best to go shocks too. I did recently think the shocks were getting dodgy on the back, took it to Midland vw where it was diagnosed as rear bushes, It is now very quiet and seems to be a pretty good set up over bumps with no crashing at all. Cost me £210 at the time shocks on top will double that price at least.
