Hello all - newbie to the forum.
My son and his Ibiza Mk5 have an air bag light on.
He recently installed a 'boom box and amp' in the boot. He ran 2 wires - one from the battery and one from cigarette lighter (Duffus did not disconnect the battery and regularly 'tested' with ignition on and off during the whole of the installation).
shortly afterwards I noticed he had no rear lights on and discovered he had swapped fuses over - this was an easy fix for some new fuses, but the Air Bag light is still on. Also his battery ran flat after seven days while he was on holiday.
My initial thoughts are to remove the entire installation or at least disconnect the battery lead as cigar lighter is powered from ignition.
I have also read on here that other similarly inexperienced auto electricians have made similar mistakes when connecting to the battery and blown fuses on the battery distribution board which I will check with a continuity checker (I cannot inspect visually as there are plastic covers that I cannot get removed and I cannot post a picture - If you know how to remove the covers please let me know).
Assuming the airbag is not a genuine fault what is the cheapest way to reset the light?
Cheers boys!
