Air Bag light after Amp install

Hello all - newbie to the forum.
My son and his Ibiza Mk5 have an air bag light on.
He recently installed a 'boom box and amp' in the boot. He ran 2 wires - one from the battery and one from cigarette lighter (Duffus did not disconnect the battery and regularly 'tested' with ignition on and off during the whole of the installation).
shortly afterwards I noticed he had no rear lights on and discovered he had swapped fuses over - this was an easy fix for some new fuses, but the Air Bag light is still on. Also his battery ran flat after seven days while he was on holiday.
My initial thoughts are to remove the entire installation or at least disconnect the battery lead as cigar lighter is powered from ignition.

I have also read on here that other similarly inexperienced auto electricians have made similar mistakes when connecting to the battery and blown fuses on the battery distribution board which I will check with a continuity checker (I cannot inspect visually as there are plastic covers that I cannot get removed and I cannot post a picture - If you know how to remove the covers please let me know).
Assuming the airbag is not a genuine fault what is the cheapest way to reset the light?

Cheers boys!

You should be able to unclip the covers on the battery, they are a bit tricky to remove, but still very possible.

The battery distribution link is a multi fuse, if one fails, you probably need to replace the complete strip, or try fitting an individual fuse over the failed one - if that looks possible.

Check the main fuses, the airbag light will need to be reset by a garage, no free apps like torque can clear airbag codes

did you remove the module with the buttons (close, open, airbag light, etc etc)?

Whats the Cig lighter wire doing? Remote on?

Amp should be powered from the battery, with a "Remote on" signal from the headunit or A N Other non permanent live option. Is the Cig lighter a perm 12v, thus draining his battery?

Thanks
Cig is trigger for the amp
I don't want to pay garage to reset light if there is a real fault. I'd rather buy a cheap diag tool to do it in case I need to find a root cause.

Why not try to get someone local to you to try to reset that fault using VCDS for some smallish money?

If you had some "location" details in your profile, someone might just offer to help?

My friend in his golf installed an amp in his car and had all kinds of lights show up when he turned the ignition on one of which was the airbag light which was the only one left standing after a short moment, either way I found out he disconnect the wrong terminal from his battery and this can cause the airbag light on, this was actually in the cars manual if this happens and he had to drive very slowly below 10mph or something like that for a short while and it cleared it, if this is anything like the same problem!
