Hello guys, I'm sure this question has been answered before but this forum is a maze to me.

I just bought some alloys with the following spec

19", 5x112, 8.5 Width, 35 Offset

To put on my Seat Leon MK2 Reference 55reg 1.6 Petrol

Will they fit? The person I bought them off doesn't think so but I thought I would check with some of you first.

Does anyone know the offset of the stock alloys? He thinks it's 50 but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks

I had et 45 offset on my Leon, 19s and 8.5s and there wasn't much room on the inside against the strut but was sitting perfect to the arch,

If I'm working the right way u might need 10 mil spacers as your offset is smaller therefore closer to the strut, don't quote me just yet I may be wrong

A smaller offset moves the wheel further away from the strut.
Them wheels will stick out nearly 30 mm further than a standard Cupra alloy...

What do you mean stretched tyres... I haven't even mentioned which tyres I was going to use

It means say the wheel is 8" wide the tyre really should be 225 so stretched is smaller width tyre say 195 so the tyre goes underneath the arch and the wheel slightly sticks out something like that I used to call it the euro look

So they're a no-no?

Illegal? Look dumb?

Those wheels will fit but will very very close to sitting proud of the wheel arches. I'm sure there is something about having tyres protruding beyond the bodywork of the vehicle which deems it "unsafe" for the road, but generally speaking, I don't think you're likely to find a policeman who's that anal and hawk-eyed to spot it.

Anyway, I think it's only an issue if the wheel sits proud of the arches by such a substantial amount.

They will fit, will have plenty strut clearance and wont protrude past the arch but should sit as near as flush, 205/215 Tyre will allow for extra room and will not be illegal.

I've had 8J ET40 fitted before now and they have sat flush with the outside of the front arch. These alloys will definitely protrude past the arch.

Not to mention the issue of fitting a 205 or 215 tyre to a 8.5J rim

You can fit the lower width tyre, but not very many tyre fitters will do it now because they don't want any come backs in case the law pulls you over

Alright, I've had another look around and I've found a set at 19", 5x112, 8.5 Width, 45 Offset, would these be more appropriate?

It's what I have fitted will dig out a pic if you want

I have not got 245 tyres fitted I have 235s, rears are also slightly cambered, fronts rub the moulding on the inside of arch in the splash guard, but then again I guess I'm fairly low, if I was doing it again I would go 225s

9J ET30 and tucking front and flush on the back on 20" alloys.. oh and 215/35 on 9J, which went on without any issues at all.
