banging when wheelspining

if it bangs a bit when wheels spin is it just the wheels bouncing or is it a mount knackered?

I think it's axle tramp, definition from a tyre website:

"A form of wheel hop that occurs on cars with live axles, caused by the axle repeatedly rotating slightly with the wheels and then springing back."

I don't think it indicates any issue-just sounds bad!

My boc did this and I think it was the XDS system trying to find traction. Sounds like the engine is going to fall out hahahahaha

ah rite it only does it some times and seems to be on rougher road surfaces nowt to worry about then

I used to think it was the traction control or stability control pulsing the brakes to do it's thing, this is noticeable but a violent banging like your driving over rocks I'm sure is axle tramp-probably combined with the systems trying to find traction.

wouldn't worry I get it sometimes especially on damp road and right foot going down a bit quick it's a combination of wheel spin and TCS trying to get everything under control

And yes it is more noticeable on "rougher roads"

i hate this, it feels like my driveshaft is going to tear through the bloody floor! lol.

but yes, wheel hop. im hoping after a few suspension, mounts and handling mods, i can solve this - or narrow the chances of it happening to me down!

if you hear this a lot i would say you need to take the lead weight out of your right foot!!!

My R never really hopped until I fitted my torque mount insert now its a regular occurance. The roads being greasy doesnt help.
Before the mount insert was fitted it would just spin up now it hops.
