Best engine enamel/paint?

The only shiny silver I've seen has been a humbrol spray paint, but I don't remember it being as shiny as they advertise, and I don't know whether it would be suitable for an engine.

Depending on what you want done, would chrome plating do the trick? That would definitely be a gloss finish!

I don't know what heat will do to clearcoat though, it may turn yellow or crack. Try and get one that quotes high temperature resistance, we're not talking brake caliper temperatures but certainly hotter than normal paintwork would get.

I found a pretty good heat-resistant silver from rustoleum, still more of a satin finish not gloss though. I have also found a VHT clear gloss, so will overcoat the silver with the VHT clear gloss for a shiny finish. I have YET to find a good gloss silver engine/caliper spray paint.
