Blubbing noise when idling

Hi guys

I recently performed an Italian tune up on my Mk 1 Leon Tdi FR 150, and now when it's idling it is making a blub blub blub noise. It sounds like a Subaru Impreza.

It's never sounded like this before. It drives exactly the same, but I'm worried something may have broke or popped off.

Any ideas?

Is it a blowing sound like a blown exhaust? I had that sound when the camshaft wore a hole in one of the lifters.

Camshaft was my initial thought.
Can you get a video/ audio clip of under the bonnet when it's running.

An Italian tuneup usually refers to a process whereby a motor vehicle engine is run at full load for extended periods in order to burn carbon buildup from the combustion chambers and exhaust system.

Hi guys

Just for info, it was the camshaft that needed replacing.

If you suspect yours is on its way out, a good way to diagnose it is to stick it in neutral and give it some high revs. The clattering noise will be more noticeable when the revs drop.
