Hi all,

After picking up my Ibiza (2012 SportRider 1.2TSI) I was disappointed to find out that although the car does have Bluetooth hands-free functionality (which is awful by the way) it can't/wont stream music over Bluetooth, I've stumbled a way around the issue that I'm happy with and thought I would document it here for anybody else who wants to keep the original Head Unit but want to be able to stream music over Bluetooth.

I tried using an aux cable which worked reasonably well but the cable looks untidy and gets in the way as I use my phone as a sat-nav and position it to the right of the steering wheel.

I came across an inexpensive 'Bluetooth receiver' on Amazon and decided to give it a try, I can't post links as I'm new but if you search for hk008 bluetooth receiver you'll find the one I bought.

Fortunately it works and after I set the audio output settings on my phone to use the 'Seat BT' as the output device for call audio and the Bluetooth-Aux receiver as the output device for media audio all is well and I can successfully take calls as before but I can now listen to the music on my phone!

I've only just received the device and can't comment on how this will work long term but apart from breakage and the fact that the device doesn't automatically turn off/disconnect when I turn the engine off I can't see there being any issues.
