bonging noise coming from steering

a bonging sound is coming from my steering when i turn the wheels at low speeds, i recently had a new spring fitted a few weeks ago.. anybody any idea what it could be?

no its not the other spring, checked it and checked steering rack etc.. puzzled!!

same problem: fitted a new springs(set), started to hear some noise at lower speed and sometimes when turning, but also around 40-50 with small movements back and forth of the gas pedal

hi guys, found out what the problem was... apparently it's a bearing on the top of the strut!!

you beat me to it - mcpherson strut bearings generally always need a good dose of silicone spray after refit/new fit while the rubbers settle in.

on my ibiza I took the bearings appart cleaned and regreased I was horrified at how much crap there was at vert low mileage some designs need to have their suspension strait and hanging free before final tightening
