Boost pressure actuator - Engine ECU?

Hi all. Having an issue with my 2015 Leon. Had an engine light on, garage said the diagnostic code showed an issue with the boost pressure actuator. They replaced the part, engine light still on. Referred me to a seat garage which said the fault is with the engine ECU...

Quoted £1,500 to repair.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do to save money? The car is in good condition otherwise and only 70k miles. The garage told me to part exchange it but only getting offered half its purchase price now :(

Thank you

I don't know the answer but it might be a good idea to mention what engine etc, also find someone nearby with VCDS or OBDeleven and post some error codes. :) What area are you in?

I'd find a diagnostic specialist who also spend the time to check connectors and wiring, rather than garages who just throw parts at a car to try and solve problems.
I guess the first garage won't refund you for a wrong fix?

Thank you - engine is 1.4 tsi. Based in Leeds. I'll see what I can find on obdeleven

Yeah the first place said no to refund :( the 2nd place said they would have done the same thing as first garage and that I've got really unlucky. The 2nd place said they did electric harness testing and the writing of the part was fine, which led them to conclude ECU is at fault. I'm still unsure what to think - what's the best way to find a diagnostic specialist? I am based in Leeds. Thank you again

I'd Google 'ecu specialist' and see if there's one near you. If not, all you'll need to do is post it to them They could then test your ECU and give you a definitive answer as to whether it's faulty, or where to look next.
