tried searching for my problem people before i posted but nothing relevant came up. on

the way back up the m6 this morning i noticed when braking from 75-80 the car juddered

alot and got bad feedback through the steering wheel. It only happens at higher speeds

also when just hitting over 80... just over lol the steering was wobbling. First thoughts

were wheel balance but didnt know if this would affect the braking also. Had alot of trouble

with getting the wheels balanced with brembos on 16"s.

yea see where you are coming from but cant understand why its doing it when just sitting

at 80. Think new discs and wheel balance are in store! Any idea how much for two cupra

R front discs? and will they check the discs on an interim service?

your wheels can still wobble under braking in regards to the balancing with 16's n brembo there are thinline stick on weights available at any decent wheel garage or wheels can be balenced from the inside only. we used to do it with mini wheels as the brakes were a big issue. think its called static balence.
but the slightest mold defect can in the tyre can cause this. plus the tyre pressures too.
we had a lot of issue with cheap tyres for this and they just wouldnt balance up. what tyres are you running.
even tho i just said al that it still could be your brakes. national tyres and other garages do a free brake check.

visual check i would of thought! may pick it up on road test! have a look yourself see what kind of condition there in, look about to see there is something there that shouldnt be ect ect is there any banging over bump and steering? that would point to something else but if its just braking then my bet is its yor bakes, go on take a wheel of it wont bite you.

also if you find anything take some pics and post them up so we can see what you got goin on.

for discs best bet is to see bill (badger5) for some good discs, as you know he is your friend when it comes to new discs ect, best to have pads as well tho.

getting it serviced soon so will ask them.

or get a hydrolic jack (donno what its called, but one of the cheap ones you 'pump' up; cost me 20 quid or so)

that will give you more clearance under the car to jack it up elsewhere.

when I want to get the trolley jack under the sideskirt point, I need to have the wheels on a raised level, as else the car is lower than the jack at its lowerst lol

haha

Mine made a hell of a noise at certain speeds and when cornering one way.
Got the tyres off and the front left looked like a 50 pence piece.
FK452's now and the difference is just beautiful.
Cant believe the state of the old ones
