Brembo Brake Calipers

Hi All,

So I was having a discussion with my mate about my calipers, they need spraying or replacing. Which is the better option. He seems to think spraying them while they're on the car doesn't always look good and can go wrong. He suggests buying a set, painting/lacquer and putting replacing.

Looked on eBay they aren't cheap. Not sure what the best option is. I'm not that handy so don't wanna screw it up.

Any advice?

Definitely remove them to repaint or get them blasted and powder coated.
Hand brushed ones on the car always end up looking **** imo and I've seen enough poor attempts of Brembo refurbs.

Unbolt the callipers from the hub but leave the brake pipe connected.
Clean the callipers with a wire brush and a can of brake cleaner.
Choose your weapon. Spray or brush on. But you MUST use calliper paint either way. Its harder wearing and heat proof.
If spraying, cover everything else (disc, hub etc) in masking tape/news paper.
Follow instructions on side of can.
Go on ebay and get some new BREMBO stickers.
Put it back together.
Jobs a gooden 👍

Yeah wanted to do it before getting wheels refurbished. Had car 11 years so just needs a bit of a tidy. Suprised it's lasted me this long.

Thats a very clean job, have those wheels been done as well? Look perfect. Just watched a video online and doesn't look too difficult to get them off.
Yep, i did those aswell and the bolt caps.
5 wheel silver and a bit of sanding down of the scuffs around the edges of the rims.
The car is in daily use so did one wheel a day.

When you say repainting you often actually only need to sand them down a bit and relacquer them. Do a search on here. You don't have to remove them

Yeah I don't think they need a full paint job, might get away with sanding and a relacquer, I'll check for old posts
