At the last service the ECU reported an error with the canister expansion something?

Recently I can smell briefly and only sometimes petrol from the air vents. After openning the bonnet I can also smell a vapour of petrol but this does not always occur. Does anyone know whats wrong? My LCR is a 210 model with only 50K.

Regards,

Koi.

Sounds like you may have a leak on the carbon canister, this deals with the vapour from the petrol tank, it may be a split hose or a connection has come undone. It is located in between the washer bottle and the expansion tank, black squareish thing with two hose coming off it.

Do you think its expensive. Will I need a new canister or can I just replace the hose. Whats the risk if I leave it for a few months. I can only smell petrol sometimes?

It all depends on what it is that's wrong if its just a hose that has split then should be cheap enough, cant really comment on the safety tbh don't want to say yeah no problems , then hear you went up in a ball of flames.
