Model Year 21/22 Buying Extended warranty

Purchased my Formentor 3 months ago and now wanting Extended Warranty. Before buying I’ve a couple questions which no one from Seat/Cupra can answer for some reason. I’ve been in contact with the actual Extended Warranty team, sales team, had a live chat and tried to contact the service team (in which I always get disconnected). My Cupra has gone over the 40k recommended for the DSG service (not while in my ownership) so I’m wondering if I get this service done now & also if I get all future regular yearly services at my local garage will I be covered in my extended warranty if anything happens afterwards? I don’t want them to use me not using the main dealers as an excuse to not cover. Either way no one will give me a yes or no unfortunately, very frustrating

40k for a DSG service? I had an oil service at 1 year old just recently. I asked the service interval for the DSG and was told it was 80k. So what gives? They didn't know the service interval for the Haldex system.

Yeah I was told 40k, I have a VW Tiguan too which was also 40k so haven’t really doubted the information… seems to me like no one working there can provide a straight answer, if even provide one. Not ideal

I have the Leon 300 and the DSG interval for that is 40k and the Diff (Haldex) interval is every 3 years, so I imagine yours would be the same. Sounds like you have a rubbish dealer if they don't know that kind of info. I have just had my 3 year service/MOT and the Diff oil was changed along with brake fluid on top of the normal minor service for my Leon 300.

The oil changes for the various gearboxes used throughout the group have different intervals that are best checked directly against the chassis number.

As for your question regarding the warranty - How far over did the gearbox go before the oil was changed? And which type of warranty to you intend to go for? (I'm assuming it's one with VWG? ALL-IN, named component, etc?)

I may be wrong (I often am - probably a consequence of advancing years! 🤣) but with your car being the VZ 300 I suspect it has VAG’s 7 speed wet clutch DQ381 DSG transmission. If so, aren’t the service intervals for that DSG unit 80k miles?

I know that VW fit that DSG unit to their performance models of the Golf (GTI and R) and the latest Polo GTI and VW’s DSG service intervals on those cars is 80k, although there are enthusiast owners who get theirs serviced at 40k miles as they’d rather over-service than wait until 80k.

TPS also quote an 80k service interval;

My local garage looked into it and it’s definitely 40k it needed doing.
It’s on 55k and hasn’t been done, was a fleet vehicle before I bought it so I guess they just forgot to do it. I’ve had it for nearly three months now so warranty with the company I bought it from has ended so I’m looking to extend. If get the ‘all-in’ with Seat it ends up around £236 or something, but like I said it’s gone over 40k and not had the DSG service so I was hoping someone at Cupra could tell me if I’d be still covered for this under extended warranty if I get it done and take it out now or not (and if I have to use them for this DSG service and just regular yearly services going forward or not) I only do 1,500 miles a year that’s why I bought with a higher mileage..

PM Me your VIN and I'll clarify what the interval is 👍

You could be correct for that DSG change at 80k as I was forgetting that my new 300 has the 7 speed box, while my previous 280 had the 6 speed and that is where I got the 40k from. Will need to ask my dealer next time I am in, but as I do a low mileage don't think I will hit that mark for years.:)
