I bought a leon in auction yesterday and it’s got an issue where when i would put the foot down and then let the revs go back down it would jump into limp mode, also been experiencing a screetching noise from the fuel pump, Connected my car to VCDS and get a Fuel pump mechanical malfunction. I’ve replaced the fuel pump and issue has not resolved? Anyone have any clue?

I don't know the answer but did you clear the DTC errors and re run the scan to ensure there was nothing else popping up.

I have cleared, When clearing all normal every time i start it no problem once i actually put my foot down or rev it high like it gives that error, i know the fuel pump i replaced is good cause it came off my daily leon, i might try the control module.

One other thought, has the car you purchased got a map on it, I know in the past I had issues when fitted a Revo upgraded pump it caused loads of issues as the garage had not installed upgraded software to use it.

I don't know a lot of things about diesels but it's likely you have two fuel pumps. One in the engine bay (high pressure fuel pump) and another one (low pressure fuel pump) possibly under the rear seats.
Which one did you change?
If you still have access to VCDS try to log requested vs actual fuel pressure and go from there.

i have changed the low pressure fuel pump but noise was coming from the low pressure and it’s been replaced and it has stopped making that annoying growling noise but limp mode still is present. Error code is linking it to the low pressure fuel pump.
