Just had a problem develop on my 1.8tsi leon 5f st fr
I was sitting with the engine on munching a maccie d's and the car started shuddering for a few seconds (almost like a shiver?) thought nothing of it then it done it again and now it seems to be doing it every 5 minutes or so

I done a scan and got the following:

Code:
Address 01: Engine (J623-CJSA) Labels: 06K-907-425-V1.clb
   Part No SW: 8V0 906 264 B HW: 06K 907 425 A
   Component: 1.8l R4 TFSI H09 0003
   Revision: --H09---
   Coding: 0B1900322424010B0000
   Shop #: WSC 00049 770 00124
   ASAM Dataset: EV_ECM18TFS0218V0906264B 001003
   ROD: EV_ECM18TFS0218V0906264B.rod
   VCID: 3B72ECAEB2FEE099FC-806F

1 Fault Found:
15125 - Cylinder 1
          P0301 00 [096] - Misfire Detected
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

What do you think it is? and will it cost much? ?

Had similar on a previous car and ended up replacing an injector. I'd try swapping a pair of the coil packs, as suggested, and see if the code location changes. If it doesn't change, maybe try swapping a pair of the injectors.

If you google ‘Rosstech wiki’ plus ‘DTC/fault code’ you will get a return such as this, which will give you possible solutions:

As above, I would swap coil packs over to see if this transposes the fault.

However, what mileage has the vehicle done and when were the spark plugs last changed?

I would but I'm about as useful as a chocolate teapot when it comes to dealing with my own car ?

Car is currently on 53k
They've never been changed since my ownership in January - so ive no idea.

If your unsure with working on the car yourself, you have two options

Booking your car in for diagnostics and repair meaning hopefully the repairer will do the checks and repair properly

Or, booking in for a cylinder one coil pack at a gamble and see how it goes.

I would always suggest from someone in the motor trade, not to gamble on what the code says, the fault code isn't always as black and white as people think, but yeah, swapping a coil to see if the code moves to a different cylinder would be the first check

Either way if its a coil, shouldn't be a bank breaker hopefully! Good luck mate

Spark plugs are supposed to be changed every 4 years or 37,500 miles (60,000 km) according to the maintenance manual.

Do you have the service history from the previous owner?

Very good point about the plugs, forgetting the obvious haha

Can still be answered by swapping coils packs also
