hey all once again I have problem with my toledo (must of bought a lemon) anyhow hope maybe you guys can help. 2000 1.9 AHF toledo. When the car is idle the runs fine and idles perfect, when you put the foot down out on the road and say you do around 50/60 it runs nice and smooth but this is the awkward part. when you go into speed limits say 20/30's the car the starts a fit of shaking/jerking, it starts off gentle then gets more violent and continues doing do until I end up putting the clutch in as I feel its going to snap my neck or a drive. The car has been serviced about 1k mile ago, and timing kit on about 8k mile ago. The other problem is it doesnt do this every time you drive, b ut has gotten worse the last week or 2. Anyone got any ideas? Im going to put another fuel filter in it here tonight just incase the first one is of crap quality. Any help would be great.

P.S its had a new clutch and solid mass flywheel about 6k miles ago.

I would hazard a guess at engine mounts, especially the dog-bone mount at the back which absorbs the torque reaction of the engine. But this is just a guess.

Might also be wheel bearings (but I would expect them to give lots of warning before getting this bad) or CV joints (ditto).

As a real long shot, tyre/wheel balance?

But I'd look at the engine mounts first. Difficult to do without a ramp though - to test, you need to be able to see the mount and rev the engine. Try just looking at the engine with the bonnet open while someone else revs it for you to start with.
