Hi guys,

My car has been leaking via the door seals (damn VAGs! :p) for a while now, and as such the car is now starting to smell as im drying the car out.

My method of drying the car is the heaters on full on the footwells, and then standing on paper towels.. i did think about using a VAX, but since i repaired the doors, the carpets are drying out quickly...

Now, due to the weather, i didnt think VAXing the interior would be wise, as it will be a right sod to dry..

Any advice for me? I thought about using febreeze for now, as that should kill the smell... and as long as the carpets are dried correctly, shouldnt go mouldy!

Any advice would be great!

I've done a couple of Leons apart from my own, using a Karcher puzzi pro carpet cleaner. You can really suck the water out. I got nearly 8 litres out of one Leon carpet.

8 litres!!!! ouch.

How dry does it leave the car?? as i would like to do it really, just dont want the car to remain wet and go mouldy.

Then theres the smell :(

Virtually dry - plus, if you use a carpet cleaning machine, the fluid / powder leaves a better smell.

The one that I got 8 litres out of was done when it was freezing and I had to use a heat gun to thaw the ice in the underlay....
