CAXC 1.4TSI AWIC Intercooler/Heat Exchanger Upgrades?

Alright guys,

I've been doing some Googling but to no avail... does anybody know if it's possible, or someone offers the product (etc)... whereby you can upgrade the CAXC AWIC heat exchanger? I know a lot of people will buy the K03 turbo, K04 intercooler and CAV manifold and then **** around with pipe routing etc, but I wanted to see if there were ways to actually just upgrade the AWIC itself, whether that be by replacing the intercooler/heat exchanger within the manifold...

An interesting avenue that I don't think I've seen explored, given the efficiency benefits of AWICs.

No, the heat exchanger sits into the intake manifold right? So there's no space to make it any larger.

The radiator that feeds the heat exchanger, it's already fairly large right? So I don't think it's your bottleneck, it's simply how much heat the exchanger can deal with.

The heat exchanger sits inside yeh. I was wondering if there was an option to simply improve the vanes/efficiency whilst retaining the size. I imagine the radiator probably isn’t the bottle neck either yeh, unless increasing the size will help with coolant temps that are running through the exchanger I’m not sure if that’s how it works!

Nothing available off the shelf.
You could probably get a custom one made up, maybe see 5-10% improvement if it's really good, but size is always the main thing here.

Not sure what water pressure the system runs at, increasing that might give small gains also? or blow hoses off, depending how it's designed.

Shame you can’t upgrade it. I know RTMG do a water cooler block off plate to then run an FMIC, but I can’t find anywhere online that would show pipe routing whilst maintaining OEM turbo placement etc (ie not converting to K04 one)
