After reading just about all the threads I can regarding CDs and multi changer disc players I can't really find the info I'm after.

My 2001 Leon cupra won't play CD - RW through the standard disc changer in the glove box. I'm using the stock aura head unit. The disc changer will play bought CDs, cd r (blank once writable discs) but not rewritable discs (can be recorded over again and behave like a USB flash drive).

Is there a particular disc burner soft ware I could use on my PC to master the discs to be playable? The curious thing is that the head unit (has built in CD player) can play these discs which makes me wonder it isn't because some 'piracy thing'. Iv tried cleaning the white finger things and like I say CD r is no problem so can't be cos the 2 shinny sides on the discs.

Any tips would be great, thanks.

If you are using the cd-rw so you can rewrite later. Older CD players won't recognise it because it writes an open session. Older CD players can't understand it.

Just bulk buy cdr's if you are planning on changing so regularly.

I'd of thought if the original stock head unit reads the discs OK then the changer should also. In theory they should be the same sort of age? No kind of software solution or a particular windows application I can use to make the CD be written different so the files can be read?

The error I see on my head unit is 'CD error'.

+1. Just stick to Cd-R and you should be fine.
