It's not bad but not brilliant. Guys on the service desk are friendly and polite when you actually go in, and they generally call back when the service is done. If you want a courtesy car you will always get a basic model skoda with no fuel in due to it being a Seat/Skoda dealership.

However, I have had a few bad experiences which mean I wont be using
them again.

First time I used them I booked a service, a week in advance so as to get a courtesy car. Arrived at 8am and was told they had no record of booking me in. They still did the service but it did not instil confidence.

Following the service, I reported my mirrors not turning in, which they said would be done under warranty. They "ordered the parts". Six weeks later and after numerous phonecalls (almost every day) and lots of promises of callbacks which never materialised, I got the work done. Then when my car was there for the work, they apparrently opened the parts and found one mirror was smashed and had to keep the car an extra day to get a replacement (funny how they got a replacement next day, but 6 weeks to get the parts previously??).

Second thing would probably happen anywhere but it riled me. I used vagcom to diagnose couple of issues with the car. Took the car to them with the vagcom report hoping they would use the info and fix the issues straight away. However they said parts weren't in stock, the cost would be around 500 quid, and when I didnt want the work doing they charged me 90 quid for "diagnostics".

They wash the car following a service but its a pretty poor job and doesnt include a vaccuum inside.

Sounds very much like Colliers, then .
tbh, the best service I ve had on any of my mk4's has been from Barlows at Wolvo... bit of a trek dependant on what part of Brum your in, but well worth it IMO.

Ive been there for my service back in March and i couldnt fault it.

To be honest i went there because Colliers are AWFUL. Last time i took my car in for service, they were unable to tell me why one of my wheels was "squeaking" - Central have since diagnosed it during my last service as needing a brake allignment. Colliers even left the empty can of air conditoning bacteria cleaner that they used in my passenger footwell.

Colliers are expensive to boot. Think Central were about £30 cheaper.

Central did all the work they were supposed to and then gave an detailed inspection report of anything else wrong with the vehicle which needed looking at. In the end i didnt get any of the advisorys done with them as i chose to fix them myself once they had diagnosed potential problems.

I also took the car to them about 2 weeks ago becuase my screen washers had stopped working front and back. Was hoping it was a relay on the stalk control, but turned out to be the washer pump. They overnighted the part for me and fitted it the next day. No problems. Though if i hadnt of had the work done with them once they had discovered the problem they were going to charge me £80 for diagnosing it. Though i suppose thats an hours labour with the VAT and u cant expect them to work for free?

Car was booked in both times at my convienience with slots available on pretty much any day.

I didnt need a courtesy car though because i work nearby in Aston and just got a work collegue to follow me down and give me a ride back to the office when i dropped my car in.

I was notified by phone each time my car was ready to come and be collected.

Work was done efficiently and i havent noticed any damage to my car. Was even washed and Vacc'd inside, so maybe they have learnt their lesson from the last guy?

I intend to use them again but i guess its down to personal choice.

Not used Central, but I can reccomend Barlows in Wolverhampton.

I know they're not brilliant for courtesy cars, but apart from that they've spot on.

Got mine booked in for the first service with Central on the 10th August so will see how they do... the booking in process was painless enough and they fit it in around my schedule and also booked a courtesy car for me.

I chose them cause they are local to work (also in Aston) and when i wanted to test drive a Leon the fleet manager there was very helpful and let me take a car out without appointment and wasnt pushy about a sale or anything (mine is leased through Lex).

Will report back with my findings

I found them to be shocking. Had my LCR serviced before x-mass and booked it in 3 weeks before. I asked them to change all 3 R badges which they didnt order then i had to get them the part number. They then told me they couldnt change the splitter as only half of it had turned up, till i told them it was one complete thing. In the end when the 3 R badges turned up i had the car in to have the horn fixed and they never put the badges on as they went missing?? Hmmmmm

I agree Barlows rocks...I have used several dealers Norfolk and in Cornwall as I moved away from Wolverhampton now and not one of them matched the quality I got from Barlows or the price since.
