Might be a really thick question but where is the ABS sensor and how do I go about replacing it? I've just had a dealer knock £250 off the value of the cupra due to the ABS light being on so I thought I would fix it myself if it's straightforward or else get it fixed.

I've read on here that sometimes they are just a bit mucky so I thought I would have a play and if that doesn't work they're only £14.25 +VAT from GSF.

do you know which one to replace?

held in with one allen bolt, then can be a bugger to remove, but very easy (and you can be destructive)

yea its easy mate, i had never done 1 before and i had to change my nearside front sensor a couple of weeks back, the old one was too difficult to remove so i used a sharp(ish) flat headed screwdriver and a hammer to break the old one, i didnt even need to remove the brake disc, managed it all from behind. once youve made sure all the plastics removed from the leftover hole you can put the new one in. I warn you though therea really tight fit so can be a c..t to get in, i had to push it in as far as i could by fingers put the screw inslightly then gentle tap the new sensor with the screwdriver and hammer (I put something over the screwdriver to prevent breaking the new sensor)

If you dont push it in perfectly the ABS/traction control light will come straight back on when driving but give a different error
