clenaing rusty exhaust pipe

I have an FR 07 and everything on it is shiny, except for the tailpipe which looks rusty however much I clean it. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do with it?

Have you tried Autosol chrome cleaner, removes corrosion etc well that's what it states on the website I'm looking at..

The best thing i have used to clean my tail pipe is just Cif cleaning cream. My friends dad who owns a car parts shop told me try it cuz it works better than most dedicated car cleaning products and he wasn't lying! Came out a treat

good dose of Autosol and wire wool followed by megs all metal polish should have it looking better than new!

Ermmm make sure your CIF does not contain any amount of Ammonia. If it does it will eat through the chrome layer on your exhaust! Yes it will clean it but it will also destroy it over time too!

I'm fairly sure CIF is now 'environmentally friendly', with it's active ingredient probably some derivative of lemon peel!

But if it did contain ammonia then you gave it a thorough rinse, would that be ok?

i got some SILVO. get it from HomeBase. Works excellent, takes corrosion off with ease
