Clunk noise developed when rotating stationary steering wheel

As above really, basically if I come to standstill and motion the steering wheel left to right or right to left, I get a slight clunking noise occuring.

I don't have to perform a full dry steering motion to get it to do this, a gentle constant rock each way and you can still pick up on it. Sometimes hear it pulling away and actually coming to a stop too but I can't hear it when travelling and if I move the wheel in line with road direction etc, strange it's at the point of standstill or almost standstill.

From a sound perspective, best way to describe it, is to say it sounds as though its directly in line with the steering wheel, going to wherever the hell that joins to lol!! (steering rack problem??) . As you can see, technically minded I aint.

I have just had the offside CV joint and gaitor changed for its MOT and post this, a geo allignment which I can see is going to have to get done again following the rectification of whatever it is. DAM!

So, any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)
