Just taken delivery of a 2010 XL SE having previously having an 05 Altea Stylance.

The question I have is does anyone know how the coming home function works ?

On the old Altea you could just leave the lights on and get out and they would turn themselves off. Now you get an alarm and there is something in the manual about having to flash the lights WTF ? I've tried that and still get an alarm, can someone enlighten me ?

Also noticed the interior mirror is not a dimming one which should be on a SE and there isn't a rocker switch on the wiper to activate the menu, you have to do it on the wheel controls even though the handbook says there should be one.

Called SEAT today and they said there had been numerous changes since the handbooks were made, does that mean they are cobbling together parts from SE and S models I wonder ?

Starting with the facelift models (modelyear 2010) it is reported in our board, that there is a new way of activating coming home (CH) ... for those ALTEA models with CH included in the delivery options:

You'll have to switch CH on each & every time needed ... by pulling the headlight flasher (after ignition off) once for every 10 seconds of additional CH light, e.g. pull 4 times for 40 seconds.
The light will switch on, as soon as driver's door is opened.
