Coming Home function

I have a 1.9Tdi Stylance
With the new Leon you get this "coming home" function.
I put my car in a garage every night so have no real use for this function and would rather an alarm sound to warn me I have left the lights on, as couple of times in the day when my lights have been on I have forgotten to turn them off.

According to the manual you can access the menu to turn this off. I have tried this but can not access the menu's at all. Anyone else been able to do this?

if not, does this function run the battery down?, the manual warns of short journeys and using this function.

Cheers

To access the menu, press and hold the top button (that normally scrolls through the display screens - MPG etc.) for about 2 seconds and a Setup menu will appear on the display.

Once in the menu, scroll down to the entry for lights. To access the sub-menu, press the "reset" button on the bottom of the stalk (same button that switches between Trip 1 and 2 for MPG etc.)

You should be able to turn off comfort lights from this menu (there's a couple of settings there for lights when locking/unlocking the car). Use the reset button to access the selection to change and to confirm the new settings.

Hope this helps.

You can only perform the above function if you have the larger MFD. (if you have the bluetooth option or sat nav) So if you don't (like me) there is no option to turn of the coming home function.

Ah - I thought the Stylance and Sport had the larger display as standard.

Learn something new everyday as they say. :)

So did I! I wasn't best pleased when I found out, but at least there is less to distract me from the road.

We still have a little trip computer though, so it's not all doom and gloom!!

Looks like it - but you can only get bluetooth on the Stylance and Sport models and only those models have the trip computer as standard (option with Cruise Control on other models)

Ah that explains why the menu system don't work!

Oh well I'll put up with it. Still you woulda thought Seat would have a way for ALL models to be able to turn this function off.

Would expect a dealer could do it via vag-com or similar.... Its just not a user configurable option :(

i've read through quite a few threads (but for some reason chose to resurrect this one!) but does anyone know for certain if Vagcom can alter things like this for those of us without MFD? :)

Cheers :)

Surely just leaving the coming home function activated would be useful for you in that the lights switch off automatically so there would be no need for the alarm???

Afternoon

I thought you just turn the light switch to off and the coming home function is then disabled. I don't have bluetooth so no large MFD but by doing the above my lights don't stay on. If I leave the switch on high beam and lock the car the lights stay on for 30 seconds.

Hope this helps.
