Well everyone

I am considering making a return to the SEAT life.

Took a little break after owning a Ibiza FR 1.4 Black Edition, moved to a Fiesta ST (which i still miss) then onto a BMW 1 Series 116i.

After some recent situation changes i have found myself looking at cars again. I am considering going through with this;

My issue is my insurance is with Adrian Flux and whenever i call for a requote of my existing policy they are requesting a close to £400 (i only have four months of my policy left mind) to make the change plus admin fees.

Has anyone experienced something similar? i appreciate the caliber of car is different but the Fiesta ST was a ridiculously high insurance group also and my previous insurer covered all mods on it for close to Adrian FLuxes policy change :wtf:.

Considering just taking the hit and switiching insurers, Direct Line only want £575 to insure it for a year compared to Adrain Flux £400 + for four months.

Did you find out how much Adrian Flux want just to cancel the policy?
 
I suggest you lease a new one mate I'm paying £230 A month from donnellys with just under 3k deposit and last month they had 1 sitting in there show room.

Im saving for a mortage so deposit money is very tight. Assuming -2k deposit on a brand new one that would increase your monthly to £330 approximately.

Out of interest (i hope im not to brash asking) what kind of mileage are you under for your PCP

Seems to be the way.

Causing a little bit of a headache but the people im dealing with in Adrian Flux are very helpful and are going to review tomorrow and advise the best way forward.

I'd take the hit myself, unless you're in the process of building your no claims bonus up? As for the car, buy it and you won't regret it. Make sure to check for front pad wear & disc warping, a common problem with the 370mm Brembos particularly the DSG cars, due to the stupid metal cores in the Brembo pads (I'm switching to Tarox pads very shortly, they're the same price). Once you get it, check out the threads on solving the traction issues and you'll have a sweet machine. You'll love it.

I was going off the link you posted which showed that at the end of if youd have paid an extra 5 grand ontop of the original sale price...

But even at 8.1 id still enquire the apr rate on a loan , unless your mega loaded and dont care if dealers pull your pants down and slap your bum like a drum

Thank you for taking the time to provide some recommendations.

Yes i am still building my no claims and wouldnt want to throw away 8 months. (every little helps).

The tyres on the car are all brand new but unfortunately are cheap brands.

I havent signed the papers would like to discuss with the dealer if they would consider doing a better deal on the car due to this but im not holding my breath.

Just for context the car im trading in has four brand new goodyear eagle F1 asym4.

The updated PCP deal is at 7.1% APR now but i am going to take your advice and check out a personal loan to cover the full car.

I hate dealers who over charge , a mate of mine settled for 14.2% from trade car centre and is paying 15k for a 2010 bmw 3 series 2.0diesel coupe with 89k miles , the lengths people go to due to pushy salesmen

I have been burned in the past.

The car was popping and banging on the first test drive and i was sold.

Didnt do it on the second test drive, :(, im guessing the car just can be random sometimes

Yes but i have read some people stating the DSG needs to be in sport mode also.

As i am oblivious to the cars features and never feel 100% able to experience the cars fullness (for lack of a better word) with a sales man sat beside me, im not sure if i had the DSG in sport.

A res delete would fix the issue i imagine
 
Well i didnt buy the cupra 290.

Figures started to get out of hand to cover the miles i need for work (would have needed 18k per annum on PCP and drove the monthly up wayyyyy to high for my budget).

About to sign for a 2014 Cupra 280 manual in Black with the black leather interior and has an immaculate service history and 4 premium tyres in immaculate condition.

Again, could anyone recommend any details to look for.

I checked the tail lights for cracking, no curbing on alloys, not tears on bolsters and interior appears well looked after.

I should mention the car has 64k on the clock but was serviced with SEAT at 61k and by the current SEAT dealership serviced it again when they took it in on Part Ex (63k).
