My 2017 FR Technology EcoTSI 150 DSG has developed a quiet 'creak' noticed at low speeds. It seems to be mostly when the engine is driving against the gearbox and the clutch could be slipping (very low speeds and during pulling away and pulling up). It sounds like it is coming from the transmission tunnel area. I'd guess at a creaky transmission mount but don't know how this is arranged under there. I'm not too worried about it - I might mention it to the dealer but wondered if this was a thing?

My car does exactly the same and I have the same model, block and transmission as you, although I haven't noticed it as much over the past few weeks.

I actually thought it was the front suspension, so perhaps mine has bedded in a bit at 3.5k miles.

I'll have a listen on the way home today.

Mine did the same but stopped doing it after covering so many miles
Like Sparky says it's probably bedded in now

Having the same issue. First noticed in a parking lot at low creep speeds. Took it to the shop (car had 500km) and they said they would have to take out the whole dashboard and that it is most probably some plastics grinding. But before I took it there again it stopped, really think it has something to do with the temperature. Because it stopped and started with different outside temperatures.

Update: Mine is still making the same creaking noises at low speed if you turn the radio off and listen really hard, but it’s far less prominent than before. Going to hope that with a bit more bedding in it’ll disappear fully.

I did wonder if the weather was contributing. Glad it's not just me - I am very susceptible to cabin noises.

My first car was a 1977 Mini 1000 - on more than one occasion I would be barrelling along at several furlongs per fortnight and would exclaim to my passenger "what's that noise?", to which they would reply "which one?!". I was able to filter out the 'normal' noises and pick up the faintest of new ones. It's all so much easier now that cabins are so quiet to start with.

I have this issue. There is a TPI to lubricate the front suspension joints. It cured mine instantly but it came back and persuaded the garage to repeat for free as now on extended warranty and so now not covered. Worked instantly but now returning again.

Try the sleeping policeman test at low speed. Mine was also weather dependent temp, rain etc.

I'm pretty certain mine isn't suspension - the creak happens as the engine starts to strain against the weight of the car, with little or no forward movement and no suspension movement. There is no noise over speed humps at any speed (tested this morning in our kids' school car park). My Yeti creaks a little over these humps which I believe is a roll bar bush, not uncommon in many cars.

The creak was there this morning though, in really slow speed stop-start - it is cooler and wetter today than when I first heard it.

I did wonder if it was clutch actuation related - not sure if this is the dry or wet 7-speed; I know the torque limit for the dry is 250 Nm which is right on the limit for the 150 PS engine.
