hello guys hope someone can help me with my problem
I have just bought my leon cupra 180 and at first was very chuffed with it but this past week its been nothing but an headache. I have the problem with the low speed fans which after some searching on this forum found some usefull info on fixing it.So started with the resistor mod, all wired in heatsinked and mounted as described but it didnt cure my problem. Fans still pulsed on and off on high speed.I then tried testing procedures of fans by hooking up a 12v supply from battery and hey presto fans work fine low speed and high. Then moved to thermoswitch test, bridged connector 1 an 2 and low and behold fans spin up nice and slow, bridged 2 an 3 with ignition on and boom high speed perfect so then i thought yes all the circuitry is fine its just the thermoswitch which is at fault so got a new thermoswitch fitted it in with high hopes only to find nothing still they only pulse on high speed on and off. One thing it tells me is im no better off £70 quid down the line but at least the resistor mod did its job. The only thing left is the fan control module to try but am reluctant because of the thermoswitch test which showed the circuitry to be working the way it should, so still my poor little cupra sits on the in laws drive and im on foot lol. Hope someone outhere can shed some light on this cos i searched and searched and cant find anyone who didnt fix it at the resistor mod stage
thanks in advance
