Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone can help, and that it's a simple solution!

My Cupra 300 seems to have reset my long term MPG. It looks to have done it when the car ticked over the 3,000 mile mark.

This is very frustrating as I am now effectively 'starting again' with regard to my long term MPG figures.

Is there any way to stop this happening? I'm sure there is, I just thought that I would ask.

I've read on some other forums that some cars reset the long term figures every 100 hours and I'm not sure whether my Cupra has done the same.

Whatever it's done, I don't want it to keep happening as I'd quite like to see my long term MPG over the course of 12 months or so, rather than 2..!!!

VW’s also resets the long term average after 100 hours driving time so it’s probably a feature across VW/Audi group vehicles.

I don’t know if there’s a way you can stop this happening, but you could use something like the ‘Fuelly’ website to record your mileage and fuel usage; you’d just need to remember to take a note of your mileage and volume of fuel bought at each fill up. It might be more accurate than relying on the car’s fuel computer too, which can be inaccurate (in my experience of VAG car ownership over the last 16 years) by around 5%.

Thanks for the reply :)

To be honest, it’s not the end of the world that it resets itself every 100 hours - it’s just a bit frustrating that I can’t see the long term average over a longer period of time. My previous car (MY16 Polo GTi) also did it so it would make sense that it’s a ‘feature’ across all VAG models...

My long term average was 35.1mpg until it reset itself which is more than acceptable for a 300ps rocket ship..!

I also use fuelly. There's an app available so don't need to use Web page. Keeps long term avg mpg. I've got cars still in my profile from years ago. I should really have a clear out.
