hi guys, just thought id share this as im not sure if anyone else on here has done this...
basically I bought a 5m roll of flexible LED light strip in red from ebay for 8.50 which I thought was a bargain! wide range of colours but I decided to go red to match my car. I fitted a wire from under the bonnet linked to my side lights through my wing and into my door all nice and neat, put a strip in the driver and passenger footwells and then linked a wire to go under the side door panel and under the back seats, used the adhesive side of the led strip to stick to a metal frame under the seats. all in all I am very impressed with the results, looks really nice. ill put up a guide if anyone wants to know how I done it, just let me know. anyway here are some pictures! :) hope u like it

thats a nice touch mate. had a single bulb already fitted when i had my focus and it came on with interior lights. simple but effective i think :)

Instead of using the wire in the engine bay couldn't you have used the wire connected to the loom behind the headlight switch on the dashboard?

Looks really nice. Thinking bout doing the same but in blue.

These were common in ep civics, a guy used to make up a kit so it was just a matter of sticking them in the footwell and wiring them up
A much better option is to wire it upto the central locking/interior lights though, looks alot better as they come on when you unlock the car and then they fade asy one you turn the ignition, then back on as you get out until you lock the car where they fade away again....the same way your interior lights do, had them like that in my civic and everybody thought it was an optional xtra lol
Putting them onto the sidelights means they always on when your driving :s

I didnt think of that tbh lol i already had a feed from my side lights because i fit custom drls on my headlights so i just took a feed off that instead. Still a really easy installation and all tidy.

Thats all too complicated for me to do lol! Plus it looks kinda cool when im driving and im glowing red lmao

This is a really good effect for very little cost, It looks really nice!

I have done the same in my cupra, But I have RGB LED's, If you wire them up to the interior light then you are able to have toem dim on and off with the interior light (This even works when the interior light switch is in the off position ;).

It works really well, i do like the idea of linking it to the interior lights like, only thing is i wouldnt have a clue where to start :/

Did this a while back looks ace doesn't it. There was a guide on here somewhere can dig it out if anyone interested. Also did the door bins by tapping into the electric window switch light, and did the centre console below hvac controls. Waiting to get my W8 light hooked up to complete the look!

Wouldn't mind a guide wana do this in mine the floors arnt lit up enough and i lose to much at night

Anyow wired up an led to the outside handle ?

Would like door handle and puddle lights would be door cards off and all sorts though.

Thats how mine was done, Wired into the two wires for the door buttons, Ran a wire down the roof lining and trims around the dash board, I have ran an external power source directly to the battery so that I can turn the LED's on seperately as well ;). Ill have to upload some images soon.

My next plan is to do the door cards and puddle lights, so I'll take some photo's of that on too!

Also did this a while back but got bored and the stickyness of the strip went after a year so pulled them off. :)

*edit* and mine were connected to the cig lighter so just turned on with the car

Thats what kept happening with mine, Got hold of the thinest Number Plate tape i could fine, and it has stayed stuck ever since, Had to make sure I cleaned the surface with isopropanol alcohol first though (Alcohol Swabs) make sure the surface is grease free ;)
