Diverter Valve issue Cupra

Hello guys

I think I have a problem with my Forge Diverter valve. I reacently installed a new BSH true seal intake but when I accelerate and let off the gas the sound when dumping the air seems to be much more subtle, like it is being held back, then I remember from previous intakes and also another BSH true seal intake I used to have on another car. I love the Bsh intake, it has without a doubt given a much smoother throttle response and faster car.
Also during acceleration I can hear a very distinct sound like the valve is letting out air. It is a metallic sound, dont know how to describe it better.

I will be getting new hoses for the DV next week and will replace the old ones. Have tried with the yellow spring but changed back to the green one since I did not feel any difference.
The car a Leon Cupra 2.0TFSI has a few mods and makes about 340hp and 480nm.
I have tried lubing the valve but to no avail.

Is it the diverter valve failing or something else. I have checked and rechecked every hose from the forge twintercooler, bsh street catch can to the intake for leaks but can not find any.

The noise your getting is it like a high pitched squealing? Because i get that and its starting to really piss me off.

I was told on another thread i created that it's the dynamics of how the air travels along the pipe that causes the noise, and you can fix it by moving the pipe and cone up / down a but to change the length slightly...

Not worked for me as of yet.

The sound during acceleration is possibly boost modualtion, between approx 3250 to maybe 4250rpm ish?

I can't quite remember the exact rev's.

Can you explain that further please.... Might be something to do with my weird noise aswell...

Its the N249 Valve (DV) regulating the boost when it is spooling up, when an "Open Filter" is fitted it is easy to hear it but difficult to try and write down what it sounds like

Like a Tch Tch Tch Tch Tch!!!!

Your high pitched squealing, could it be a boost leak?

The problem is trying to describe a sound.

Sorry to hijack the thread but i have a quick question was cleaning the engine bay when i heard a slight hissing sound was like air escaping it did this twice in around a 10 minute period is this normal? car had been for a run around an hour earlier so had been stood a while if it helps im running stage 1, Nuespeed P Flo and stock diverter valve no issues with performance at all.

No not a boost leak mate, posted a thread up a while ago and someone who had the same induction kit had the same noise... also a video on youtube of a GTI with the noise.... i will try and find it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGysDM-nc0Q here you go...forward to 1 min ish and in the car when he accelerates you hear a high pitched squealing... thats same as mine but mine doesnt last quite as long through the rev range... OP is this the noise you hear?

Mate, I can see why it is doing your head in, it would do mine in too, not the most pleasent of sounds is it.

So, have you got a Remote DV port which you have bunged off???

Hi Madcaddies,

Just wondering was the forge valve dumping the air ok before you fitted the bsh true seal intake?,

If the valve sounds like it is loosing air you have the wrong spring in as I had the same issue with mine, have you got the blue spring?, stick that in and see it it fixes it, can't remember of the top of my head which one I have in,

Also check that the induction kit is tight on top of the turbo aswell,

Speak to forge also as they are very helpful,

I have one on my car with no problems and it sounds as it should,

Let me know how you get on?,

I use the yellow spring since my car is chipped and it is what Forge recommends for a chipped 2,0TFSI:) Will try the standard blue one again.
I have checked and made sure that the intake is as tight as possible on top of the turbo.
I am thinking of getting the Oem diverter "D" valve but not sure yet. I just got new hoses for the Forge valve today and fitted them making absolutely sure that there are no bends on any of the hoses. Also lubed the valve again and try to fit it better.
I think the sound is better now but still not sure the sound is just right.
