Ok, so the dodgey volume dial issue, is it a new stereo or is there any other way of sorting it?

How much is it to get a new stereo sorted?

Cheers

mine does it on the cupra. never had a problem on 1.4

funny other day, i mess around with a lad at works escort, crank it up etc to annoy him. He got in mine, tried same and went from about 10 down to 4 lol

trick is to turn it slowly

you wouldn't push your missus buttons quickly would ya ;)

not really. set it to 10 and leave it there. then move to 15 if in loud mood or 6ish if in quiet mood

It actually makes me laugh now, a good some came on and i tried to turn it up quick, and it just went to 0...slowly you have to turn it up.

Has anyone replace the stereo? as its all intergrated etc etc dont look simple but i'm sure some people must have?

The question is, is it a fault with the radio unit itself, or the rotary knob on the faceplate that controls the volume?

I know there's a thread about a company that refurb the radio unit, but if the fault was with the switch, would they still fix it?

Having said that, mine doesn't bother me enough to worry about fixing it.

The easiest solution I can think of is to find the volume you listen to the most and set the "on volume" in the program menu to that.

They you'll hardly ever need to adjust it.

do a search on here - it's a genuine problem for a few of us and a BIG problem especially when trying to change the volume when going over bumps!!

No solutions that work long term seem to have been found - just gotta learn to live with it my friends
