Dodo Juice on rubber seals??

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone uses dodo juice wax on the rubber seals around the windows as I have seen a few guys mention doing it but should it be used on rubber?

Also the plastic trim on the bonnet, what is the best way to clean, shine and protect it?

not sure DoDo Juice waxes can be used on the rubber / plastic trim. i always avoid getting polish and wax on them.

gummi pflege is designed to condition and protect rubber seals... dodo juice do a SN trim sealant for plastic trim which is a crystal based product that creates a sealant layer on the trim to protect it for up to 6 months. it also restores faded trim.

As mentioned gummi or swissvax seal feed for the interior seals (door, boot, bonnet) and seal feed can also be used on the exterior seals.

However, before application of any trim product make sure the seals are really clean. A decent apc wipe down via mf will do this.

For the exterior plastics I have used the dodo sealant and found it wasnt that good nor did it last that long.

I am looking at gtechnic for that.

The problem with APC is that it will leave a residue behind unless you use a IPA solution to wipe the area down with afterwards... i have seen the SN trim sealant last for 6 months+ and give a really nice finish when the area has received an extensive clean beforehand.

Mot sure if the GTechnic is that fussy... maybe Nanolex would be worth a look as well ?

What apc are you using that leaves a residue behind?

None of mine do.

As for the trim sealant, I've used it on a number of cars now, none have gone past 4 months.

Megs APC diluted either 4:1 or 10:1

Always been advised that when applying sealant based products to plastics that an IPA wipedown is essential if you want the product to bond properly with the trim due to APC leaving a residue behind. I've stuck to this and have never had an issue and have seen better than 4 month performance.

I will say though, it isnt an easy product to use and i'm glad i dont have to do it more than i do at the moment. From what i have seen none of the specialist products are any easier to use though.

Ahhh I see the problem, your getting confused with products.

You are actually on about a different product (and therefore process) in 2 posts.

In 1 post your talking about gummi and seal feed (I take it you have used both) and in another your talking about supernatural trim sealant. A totally different product to gummi and seal.

Yes you do use an IPA after apc for the sealant, but not for the gummi or seal feed.

You shouldnt really be using IPA that often on rubber as it dries it out.
