Well after taking my front door cards off I wont be doing that again in a hurry, question is are the back door cards the same as the front with the window mechanism attached to it?
I've got to take my drivers side door card off soon to try and track down an annoying rattle. Like you, I really can't believe that the actual window lifting mechanism is on the door cards themselves. It makes door car removal on the Leon a complete mission compared to other cars I've had to do the same on plus it means you can't really drive around with the door card off if you need to (like making it easier to try and locate a rattle) unless you want to be driving around with no window as well
Cheers mate, I found the front guid but not the back one. I removed them to change my tweeters, started raining half way through so had to get brolly out lol. My fiesta was so easy 3 screws and it pulled off
Rear door panels aren't that bad to remove, had to do the rear right one to replace the door lock.
This guide should help: http://www.no1wok.co.uk/cupra/rdp.pdf
The door panel can be removed by sliding it up once all the screws have been removed and windows mechanism removed from window and windows taped in place. The electrical cable for the door lock is routed on the panel itself on my car, yours might be different, there are two clips on the door card holding the cable in place. I'd recommend to slide the electrical cable out of the clips before removing the door card and be careful not to snag the wire when pulling the door card up. It might even be a good idea to disconnect the electrical cable from the door lock before removing the door card.
The window mechanism is attached to the door card.
