According to this comparison, the 205/55 has over 5% increase in rolling diameter over the standard 215/45, which will result in your speedometer reading slower for the same speed than it would with the correct tyres.
The advised difference in rolling diameter is between 2.0% smaller, and 1.5% larger - the 205s are 5% larger so well outside this range
