Hi Guys,

I hope I am doing this right this is my first time posting
Basically I have a Seat Leon FR TDI 56 plate.. I kept having problems with the DPF so a friend suggested a DPF delete.. Ok so i went with this and got a remap to 200bhp, my car starting jerking so remapped it to 190bhp.. But what happened about a couple of days was my car went into limp mode, where the engine managment light came and that emmissons warning light so i took it back to the company and they said it was nothing to do with the DPF and remap they did. When they did a diganostic check it came back saying Crankshaft sensor.. So they replaced this and i had no problem for a couple of hours and then the emissions light kept coming on a off and now my engine management is on constant and when i start my car it is struggling but i do not know if this is an injection problem but my injectors are not on a recall as said by Seat themselves.. Any ideas?? My car is out of limp mode now but the engine mangment light is on??

which company did your DPF Delete?

ive spent alot of money in the past doing DPF Delete's on PD170's and there's only a few companies who can actually successfully do DPF Delete's

the rest are cowboys

are you even sure the dpf has been deleted? you havent just remapped it have you?

whatever you have done, like andrew says, who done it? they clearly havent done it right.

Thanks for the reply guys

The name of the company i went to was called MSL in birmingham but they use the software from Viezu.. The funny thing is when i drove to work today there was no problem at all.. And now everything is ok!!! I just went to see them and there is no fault at all they found?? But when i drove to work and tried my cruise control, that did not work? I am glad everything fine but i think they may have done something to delay the issue? Or is it just me?

They have definitely done a dpf remove (i think he said he was guna cut the dpf??) and remapped to 190bhp.. I am considering a rolling road to see if they have really done that? Any ideas?

They probably won't give him money back if they removed dpf. And they won't be able to return it to stock if they got rid of dpf internals.

Who said anything about returning to standard?

If i was him id take the car to somebody who knows how to DPF delete the PD170... I know of 2 companies

Andy, sure but do you think they will give him money back when they are already claiming that it has nothing to do with their de-dpf? To sort it out he will probably have to go to one of the 2 but that's another few pennies out of pocket.

Right the cruise control is fine it was just me been stuiped but the person has gave me a full guarantee/warranty until i have car if anything happens.. But what really got me angry was he had to change the camshaft sensor and only when i disputed against him he said he would not charge me labour for the sensor change and only for the part £50.. But touch wood i have had no problem all day... If it happens again and he Denies anything i will go to some trading standards and seeing if he is really qualified!!

Well he either wants the car fixed or doesn't
...

This is why we say do it cheap do it twice! Lots of companies out there clame they can do DPF delete and they can't

Well im going to see how it is. Fingers crossed its okay at the moment.. So any problems i will
Go back to him and get a refund or contact the tuning company... But thanks for all your help guys.. Appreciate it.

This is what happens when you don't do your research! Or if something is too good to be true, it probably is ;)

I do remapping and when I was looking at different companies to go with one of them talked me thru dpf deletes over the phone and considered me fully qualified to do it lol!
The guy said oh don't worry it's easy, proper cowboy and needless to say I didn't bother with him again.

See with mine, the DPF light does not come on its the glow plugs and engine management light. These people are very reputable around birmingham as they specialise in Mercedes parts and do Mercedes services for dealers. But everytime i go back they are always helping so thats why the confusion of them ripping me off. I will need to ask if the problem occurs how he removed the DPF and i will relay it you guys but I have just drove it and its fine so i hope it holds out.. Needless to say im scared to drive it if another problem occurs!!!

it doesnt really matter who the company are and what reputation they have at tuning other cars

REVO are well known as a VAG Tuner but even they gave up with the PD170 they just couldn't get it to work

The PD170 is like no other car out there because of the Siemens PPD ECU and Siemens PPD Injectors

Hm.. I see where your coming from... I am
Going to put my car on a rolling road soon so i want to see if they did the remap... Thanks for all
Your help once again..
