is it possible to install in a cupra 2008 running a standard manual 6 gearbox a dsg from a audi s3 or golf mkv?
Anyone done it before?

It probably is possible, but would require something clever to link the gearbox ECU to the engine ECU and to make the two talk.

Mechanically, it's a doddle.

Just buy the Mk5 GTI with it already in though

I like too much my cupra to swap it for a golf.

I thought if there is a dsg in fr and dsg in a s3 why not in cupra? I am sure that ecu can handle it and thra there is easy way that connection can be done. These are very similar platforms and I am very sure that it can be done. I thought someone did it allready

Not impossible to do but very expensive mate...
You would need the entire gearbox and mechatronic unit along with an ECU from a GTI Edition 30 with DSG, then the DSG shifter + surround (also MFSW with paddles if you wanted that which i'll assume you do) and then a whole lot of fitting and coding.
I'd expect you should budget somewhere in the region of £6,000 all in which is probably a lot more than any financial hit you would take for selling your current car and buying an Edition 30 GTI with DSG.

And it does beg the question why not just get a ko4 FR?

Yeh tbh a decent spec FR with DSG could be specced up to be everything the guy is after... Just need front bumper and insert trim, rear bumper and diffuser, new exhaust and then just the K04 conversion kit from APR/Awesome/JKM.
The only thing you can't change is the title on the log book - it will always say FR. How important to somebody this is I don't know...
