Hi guys, hoping someone can help me out of this nightmare!
I bought a 2013 Altea XL auto about 3 weeks ago, 51000 miles on it and has been serviced in February at an independent.
done about 900 miles so far with no issues. Got in on Monday started the car, put it into D and spanner symbol flashed up. It’s not engaging at all, just revs away. Tried it on and off into R and D but nothing. The odd time it will let me in R and reverse ok, as soon as D is selected it’s the spanner again. Brought it to a local mechanic who changed the gearbox oil and filter this morning, said there is no change. Showing on the computer as issues with gears 4 and 5 I think he said.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Have I bought a disaster??
