I had Seat in Stoke-on-Trent do mine for £269 in August last year. At the time my independent garage quoted me a similar price for the same thing. That was on a 6-speed auto though.

Sorry, can’t give you any recommendations as I’m not in the Birmingham / West Midlands area. If your car‘s out of warranty and you didn’t want to use a Seat main dealership, then it might be worth doing an internet search for ‘independent vag specialist garages in Birmingham and the West Midlands’.

Be aware that service intervals on VAG’s 7 speed DSG vary depending on which DSG transmission you have - see table at the link below - e.g. DQ381; 80k miles, DQ200 no service interval, other 7 speed DSG‘s; 40k miles.

As for the cost; a quick internet search and depending on whether you use an independent VAG specialist or Seat main dealer, you’re probably looking at a cost similar to what forum member @H Rafiq paid last year at a good independent specialist or if using a main dealer, prices seem to be around £285 (that’s the VW main dealer price, I’d expect Seat to be similar). You could get a quote using websites such as the one at the link below. However, I’d urge you to fully research any garages that provide quotes to ensure any you might consider using are reputable VAG specialists who’d be able to carry out the work competently, and would use the correct VAG / Seat approved DSG fluid for the specific DSG transmission in your car.

I've been quoted £269 by SEAT dealer.
BUT, I have been quoted 40000 miles, 80000 miles and 120000km.......who do I believe!!
2019 7-speed
Given how it feels with 37500 miles on the clock (a bit jerky at times), I think it needs it now.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated

I’ve 45k on mine and it wasn’t mentioned last service by Seat and it’s pulling great.
I guess it depends to some extent on the type of miles (motorway or town). I'm mainly shorter trips, so might be why it feels like it needs doing. Midland VW say 40000miles. So 2 now saying that.....

If they say 40k I'd listen - they'll recommend based on user experience, I'd never take the dealerships word for it - you only have to look at the claims over the years of 'sealed for life' gearboxes etc that definitely needed servicing to not lunch themselves, but dealers peddle the company line of 'theyre fine'

If you don't mind a jaunt to the northern powerhouse of Manchester then i would recommend Awesomegti in Irlam

They did mine for about 210 i think but mine is the 6 speed, though i am not entirely sure if that makes any difference.

And they have a race team next to them so you can see some pretty amazing vehicles
