I wouldn't hold your breath.

SEAT/VAG ain't gonna admit there's a problem with the DSG, even if it turns out a high percentage suffer. They will just replace the gearbox - far cheaper than the bad press they would get if they admitted a problem.

Have you made SEAT aware that you have contacted What Car?
Might be an idea to contact Which, the telly programme Watchdog and VOSA since there clearly is a safety issue here.

I keep mine in auto but I must admit that after I read about the connection issue I did worry last time I selected manual low gear, but I only do this twice a year when driving into Trier down the Mossel Valley off the Luxembourg road, it's steep ;). Creature of habit as I am.

Interested to know the outcome.
