ive asked my mechanic mate and he tells me its the dmf, every now and again when i set off when i start to release the clutch i can feel a bit of a clonk and the car judders when setting off is he right with the dmf and is it knackered ive seen afew threads saying they aint cheap

He's right about the price they arnt cheap however solid flywheel conventions Re available for some cars.
As for your noise I'm not sure, I thought dual mass's 'chattered' if they make any noise at all.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon

it doesnt make a noise its a wierd feeling what it does its like the car has set off but hasnt its hard to explain

When mine went the best way to describe it was like there was 2 clutch bites.
The drive would take up then you'd have another before it drove.
Sounds like your dmf is faulty or a strange clutch plate problem.

yep thats it kevs fr exactly what it does only now and again tho it does it maybe once a week

I noticed mine more when the car was cold but pretty much all the time when cold.
Maybe yours is starting to play up.

it wasnt fully up to temp when it did it tonight
