dump valve querey/ fitting

hi all....
just a quick one.. i have a 2003 seat leon cupra 180, i am wanting to fit a dump valve but been told it will mess with my ecu and throw a light up on the dash and also loose power so its not a very good idea. is this correct? or has anyone else fitted one which works fine.

cheers :)

I have a Forge 007P and they work fine, I believe you can get some issues if you fit a Blow Off Valve as our system works on recirculating the boost pressure.

In a word, No. Not with a 007P anyway, you get a better noise when you fit an Induction Kit as your sucking more air in, and the (whoosh) you get is only air coming the other way out the Induction Kit (I may be corrected on that) but if you fit a Non Recirculating DV like the Forge Splitter R you will get a better (whoosh) but some people have had problems.

agreed, if your not too techie just lob on a 007p, if you want to get into pressures etc and want a wooosh then split r .............. BUT only if you know what your doing it seems!

007p in reverse and an open cone is the easiest way to get a cherp noise. Alot on this forum about it - just search and all your questions + more will be answered ;)

They are not the best in terms of performance and some varieties do cause issues. Most on here run a forge 007 recirc. There are valves that work fine, without bringing lights up but they dont come cheap. HKS SSQV is a proven one, but pricey. There are also the 50/50 valves where they part recirc part BOV like the forge split-R and Turbosmart kompact to consider, its all down to personal preference. Just dont get bullied into choosing something cause thats what everyone tells you should be done. Take your time and good luck.

You need a recirculating valve not a dump valve there also revered to as diverter valves or DV's
BailysDV30
Forge 007p
Forge splitter R

They all fit and work but the splitter R needs to be set up ;) as it is a hybrid DV and allows some pressure to escape making woosh sound where's tge others still give the sound but it's very quiet as mentioned an open cone filter will increase the noise level a small amount :D

thank you for you help... i bought a forge007p with a green spring and fitted it on the weekend.. she seems to be running fine.. just looking into upgrading the intake system..

What intake you going for? A large amount of people use Jentex but mine runs a JabbaSport Kit with Heat Shield ;)

i just got a crappy open cone think 30 squids from egay and a split r and mine sounds lovely. :)

i have been looking at the carbon fibre conio air intake system.. although i have heard the cupra's run well with a standard box and green pannel??

no performance gain.

the stock item can fail and where people remap its more a case of wanting a more reliable item.

Some say it may operated more quickly or is more responsive... but then in general terms when people spend money they WILL feel an improvement :)

I have a silver or stainless forge valve, very quiet, only when there is no background noise (kids in back) and when i short shift i ever hear it, just courious as to what model it was. It was on the car when i got it, any ideas?
