Hello everyone,

Just a quick question if someone would be so kind to help me with....

I have the SEAT LEON Stylance 1.9tdi 2009 and I recently purchased one of these :

ebay uk item 200376267139

I asked before I bought it if it would work on my car, which they confirmed, than said they wasn't sure and I needed some more info on the engine..

'if we had known it was the 2009 model then we would have said that it probably wouldn't fit your car. The Volkswagon group changed nearly all of their engines to the common rail engine from the PD engine. I would advise you to contact Seat and ask if you have the common rail engine or PD engine and then come back to me with what they say so that I can give you a refund or let you know where it fits on your engine.'

Can anyone help with this, it would be very much appreciated.

Loving my car so far.

Oh dear. I'd sent that pile of crap back and get a refund mate. Regardless of which engine you have that's a real con as far as tuning goes.

Bugger, seriously? Any ideas for a decent undetectable tuning mod?

If you want a removable tuning option then there are some tuning boxes on the market whichdo a reasobable job. However, the cost of these makes them unreasonable in the real world. A full remap will give you better results for less £££ than a half decent tuning box. As for removable, there are some which allow you to remove the map when it needs to go in to the dealers for any work and these are a real good idea.

However, you'll still need to inform your insurance company about any modifications just so your insurance is still valid.

In front of a PC....
Those ebay tuning boxes are a waste of money. Like Viking said I would send it back and get your money back and get a proper remap instead.
BTW your 1.9 TDI is a PD engine, only the new 2.0 TDI (in 140PS and 170PS) forms are Common Rail on the Leon.

Only the 170PS in the Leon is a common rail, the 140 is still the PD unit, in the Exeo all the engines, 120, 143 and 170 are the common rail.

1.9 is a pump duse unit and is to be replaced by the CR 1.6 unit. As said above the 2 litre 138 is still pump duse at the moment, would of thought with the FL they would of gone CR??? Maybe they have stocks to use up first?
