Hello experts,

I've started to experience strange behavior with my Leon TDI DSG from 2007. I managed to capture a video when it happen last time. You'll find it on YouTube, search for "bp6I9kSJnOA" (I'm not allowed to post links).

Symptom:
- Gas pedal stops working, comes back when speed or engine rev is lowered
- May occur at any speed (both city and highway), using any but 1st gear

My authorized SEAT workshop can't find anything and said it must be the DSG gearbox. So they upgraded to a new software version but it didn't help. Paid 350 Euros. Now they are suggesting to replace the "mekatronik" part of the gearbox that will cost about 3.000 Euros. Not cheap.

I'm not the technical guy at all but after browsing around I find that it may indicate an issue with the gas pedal (EPC?) and not the gearbox. Also note that the warning light for exhaust is active, this was due to a bad sensor somewhere (occured after software upgrade).

What do you say?

That EML light should have given the garage something to go on mate! Should throw up a code - either way that dead pedal ain't right!

The mechatronic system might be part of the issue, but I've not heard of it causing the accelerator to die like that. A delay until the clutch bites sometimes (get that on mine, annoying!) but nothing as drastic as your video.

Thanks.

I picked up the car today, the EML light should have been fixed and all electronics checked. Let's hope the issue is gone....
