Does anyone know whether the Fr 184 meets the euro 6 emissions standard coming into force next year?

Searching the internet suggests that the DSG version does and the manual version does not.

Hard to accept unless the DPF is different.

Why am I bothered ? Looks like Boris wants to increase taxation and congestion charging for all diesels not meeting this standard.

DSH is normally more efficient than a manual so yes it could be the case

No better way to save the environment than forcing production of more, less fuel efficient vehicles!

safe to assume that none of the current line up meet euro 6 and we're all due a shafting by Boris should he get his way, and we fall foul of congestion charge.
And I noticed other cities are considering copying London's congestion charge scheme, so happy days ahead...

Motorists = central and local government cash cows [:@]

Jack - re the Telegraph article. Remember - that's a journalist paraphrasing something VW' press office may have said, and probably relates to the "new" cars for next year (which isn't far off anyway). Seat said Wednesday that the 2015 cars WILL comply, but current vehicles DON'T. Except for a new 1.2...
Mines a 184, manufactured in November 2013, and it definitely doesn't.
But we will all be stitched, somehow, because we own cars.
So we're anti-social, polluting sources of revenue if the exchequer run out of money at the end of the year, or your local council need to top up their pension pot or buy the chief exec a new A8 for his official duties.

It would appear that the post MY2015 1.4 ACT does comply, just found this on uk-mkivs.net. Also note that SEAT are not the only ones removing storage bits!

The following new engines will be available to order from build week 17 2014 (week starting 21 April).

New engine

Golf Hatch

1.4 TSI ACT 150PS Euro 6

Replaces

1.4 TSI ACT 140PS

Removing driver seat drawer - cheapskates.

On the seat configurator, when looking at the FR engines the petrol ones state Euro 6 compliant, and so does the 184 DSG, but not the 184 manual or either on the 150 Tdi cars, weird!

here's the mail I recieved from Seat regarding my own 184 manual...

Dear Mr Pain

Many thanks for contacting SEAT UK Customer Services regarding the EU standards on your vehicle.

I can confirm that your vehicle does not meet the EU6 standard; it does however meet the EU5 standards.

It is not possible to convert your vehicle to meet the EU6 standards, however all new cars sold from 1st January 2015 will meet
the Euro 6 emissions standard.

I do hope this information proves useful to you; however if you wish to discuss this further, please contact me using the
details below and I will be happy to assist you.

Kind regards

So if Barmy Boris gets his way my congestion charge would double. For a car 3 months old.
Talk about moving goalposts...

It's weird that this was not introduced at MY15 changes, because surely they need to start making the cars Euro 6 immediately as some cars sit around for a while and won't be registered before 1st Jan 15

I suspect the Leon is selling well enough across Europe to clear any euro 5 standard cars from stock before jan 2015. Just covering their arse I reckon.

Anyway Boris will be prime minister by 2020 so we'll all have to use our bikes anyway. I'm sure they were prepping to put a bike lane on the M1 between Luton and Staples Corner when I drove past there the other day. :)

wouldn't be the first time I'd have seen a cyclist on the motorway. Why do they think it's Ok?
I bet everything rolling out of the factory after the shutdown IS Euro6 compliant.
There's probably a clause in the regs that refers to "vehicles PRODUCED after Jan 1st must comply..." rather than sold or registered. Anyone buying new needs to be alert.
the rest of us will just have to pay up.

This does not make sense to me the 184 dsg is compliant but the 184 manual is not.

The former has greater emissions than the latter. I have read somewhere that compliance is determined by the aggregate of the emissions of all a car makers current production. Hence if the majority of the cars meet the standard they all do from the agreed compliance date which is Jan 2015.
